Trap #9
oil on canvas, 34" x 44"

Trap #7
oil on panel, 20.5" x 18"
The mangled forms of lobster traps suggest to me something about our relationship to the bountiful ocean. We know our activities are causing climate change and aggravating the increasingly fragile ecosystem. It makes me imagine the sea is throwing these traps right back at us as a comment on our behavior.

Stump #3
oil on linen, 22" x 24.5
Each stump has individual character sculpted by the forces of nature. This one has a lovely patina of blue-green lichen complemented by the warm colors of fallen leaves. It’s well on its way to becoming one with the earth again.
